Η δημόσια τηλεόραση της χώρας, RTBF, δεν διοργάνωσε εθνικό τελικό για την επιλογή της συμμετοχής του, εμπιστεύθηκε το συγκρότημα Hooverphonic να εκπροσωπήσει τη χώρα στον διαγωνισμό. Το τραγούδι "Release Me" επιλέχθηκε να ταξιδέψει στο Ρότερνταμ, σε μουσική των Alex Callier και Luca Chiaravalli και σε στίχους του Alex Callier.
